Prerequisites for Assessment

- Hold Full National Association Membership
- Hold a recognised 2-day First Aid qualification (within 3 years)
- Hold Safeguarding training (within 3 years)
- Hold the relevant Safety Award (covering Weather, Tides, Surf & Swell, and Navigation for Paddlers)
- Have appropriate logged personal sea kayaking experience in tidal environments
You are responsible for ensuring all prerequisites are valid before assessment.
Registration with Paddle UK
Before attending assessment, you must:
- Register for the Sea Kayak Leader Award via Paddle UK
- Ensure your prerequisites are recorded and valid
- Bring evidence of qualifications and experience
Registration is completed through the Paddle UK awarding body system.
